What is cancer?

Cancer is not a single disease, but rather a myriad diseases all characterized by abnormal, unregulated cell growth. Our understanding of cancer mirrors our ability to develop new treatment methods. In this class, "Cancer Research - A Look Back and a Look Ahead", we'll explore our evolving understanding of this ubiquitous human malady.
