Practice Exams and Answer Keys
Exam 3 Information:
Exam 3 message Board
Exam 3 will take place on Tuesday, November 30th from 5:30-6:30 in Keyes 105. Materials that you may use are writing implements, and molecular models (optional but allowed). You may also bring a calculator (with all memory cleared) if you wish, but this shouldn't be needed to complete the exam. The exam is cumulative, and will cover Chapters 1-9 and sections 10.1-10.2 of Chapter 10, but will focus on the material in Chapters 7-10 that did not appear on Exams 1 and 2. Not all of Chapter 10 will be covered. The relevant sections for Exam 3 are 10.1-10.2 (covering hydrogenation of olefins, and Cl2 and Br2 additions to olefins in both nucleophilic and non-nucleophilic solvents).
There will be an optional review session held on Monday, November 29th at 7:00 pm in Arey 5. This is a question-and-answer session (no new material will be introduced).
Exam 2 Information:

Exam 2 will take place on Wednesday, November 3rd from 5:30-6:30 in Keyes 105. Materials that you may use are writing implements, and molecular models (optional but allowed). You may also bring a calculator (with all memory cleared) if you wish, but this shouldn't be needed to complete the exam. The exam is cumulative, and will cover Chapters 1-7, but will focus on the material in Chapters 4-7 that did not appear on Exam 1. Not all of Chapter 7 will be covered. The relevant sections for Exam 2 are 7.1-7.7 (covering SN1 and SN2 reactions, but not elimination reactions).

Exam 1 will take place on Tuesday, October 5th from 5:30-6:30 in Arey 5. Materials that you may use are writing implements, and molecular models (optional but allowed). You may also bring a calculator (with all memory cleared) if you wish, but this shouldn't be needed to complete the exam. The exam will cover Chapters 1-4.
Exam Topics:
Chapter 1: All sections
Chapter 2: All sections
Chapter 3: Sections 3.1-3.15 (the later sections we will encounter in chapter 8, and on exam 3)
Chapter 4: All sections except 4.4, 4.9, 4.10, 4.13 (these will appear on exam 2)
Laboratory: Experiment 1
