h2. Exam 3: Tuesday, April 285th, 5:00 PM, Keyes 105

The third exam will cover lecture (probably through Wednesday, 4/22), the reading (chapters 16, 17, 18:1-2, and 19:1-3), and the laboratory (through the week of 4/20).  Expect questions to come from all three sources.  As always, you should also be aware that we consider material from earlier in the semester and CH141 to be fair game for examinations in CH142. You will be provided a periodic table and a useful equation and constant. +You must bring the calculator specified for this course in the Colby bookstore.+

h5. [Here is a practice exam|^CH142_Exam3practice_15.pdf] - [Here is the key|^CH142_Exam3practiceANS_15.pdf] (please note, the metal oxidation state in #4 should be +3, not +2)

h5. Some recommendations:
* It is always required to show all work for each problem. If there are steps that you feel you can skip, your logic must still be clear.
* Redox balancing equations will be graded +all or nothing+!
