EA197Chinese Culture through Songs & Calligraphy
Course Description
Learning and experiencing Chinese culture and society through songs and calligraphy. Students will be taught of different genres and themes of songs including traditional folk songs, revolutionary songs of Mao's era, college campus songs, and current pop songs of different influences. Through calligraphy, students are introduced to Chinese writing styles, learning how to use a Chinese brush and write Chinese characters through correct stroke orders. Students will present a public singing performance and calligraphy show at the end of the course.
